I had a similar lamp I purchased several years ago. I think I paid about $70 or so for it and it finally gave out. Sure, the $70 lamp was heavier, metal vs. plastic at points, but it didn't last as long as I would have liked. When I shopped around for a new 20W 12V lamp I was shocked at how expensive many were. They started at about $70 and went up to almost $200. When I received the new lamp I thought the packaging was more than adequate. I examined it and everything was in order. I turned it on and it functioned fine. My only little complaint is that the rocker switch that turns it on and off is reversed from the normal, i.e. most lamps you press it up for on and down for off. This lamp is the reverse. However, for a substantial savings it's a small price to pay. So, back to the 4-Star Rating...
