Twin Light Architect's Clamp-On Desk Lamp Reviews

I've seen this kind of lamp advertised on office supplies online stores and they go anywhere from 2x to 3x the price of this lamp. This makes the lamp a good deal for this particular type. I've found cheaper lamps for about $20, but the arm on those cheapos doesn't stay in its intended position and the knobs don't do anything. The build on this lamp appears to be of good quality. Almost all parts are made of steel or some other metal. I was going to purchase this off of amazon, but I found out that there is a Lamps Plus store near where I live so I went there in person to check it out. The arm on the display model worked rather well and so does the one I have now. The main downside I've seen so far is that you can only get this in white. One last thing is that the one I purchased included both the circular fluorescent and incadescent bulbs. 24 of 25 people found the following review helpful: Good light. Some quality concerns., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Twin Light Architect's Clamp-On Desk Lamp (Misc.) Due to its dual bulbs (incandescent and fluorcescent), this lamp gives off a really high quality of light, and it's bright. Very pleasant for paperwork, drawing, etc. It's full-size (a little big really) and comes with a properly designed clamp for attaching to the edge of a desk or table. The quality is not the best. The lamp rattles quite audibly when I just touch the table, and tiny flakes of paint keep falling from one of the rotating joints. Also I have to hold down the "start" button for a good couple of seconds to make the fluorescent bulb turn on, which is a nuisance. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: Great Desk Lamp for doing Homework/Cramming!, By GamerCloud (SoCal) - See all my reviews This review is from: Twin Light Architect's Clamp-On Desk Lamp (Misc.) Picked this up in store. I clamped this onto a desk on my left side and keep it right over my head. The movement of this thing reminds of being at the dentist, though I've never shined it in front of my big mouth (lol). It does have a 2-bulb feature, one circline (circular) fluorescent bulb at 22W I think, and also has a socket in the center for "Type A" bulbs I think it supports up to 100W. I got rid of the coventional bulb in favor of a non-circline fluorescent bulb that looks like a small white slinky. If you get this lamp I suggest you install 2 fluorescent bulbs to accomodate the sockets. I got this during Finals Week this past Fall. |
