I was looking for a lamp with attached power outlet that didn't look corny or old-fashioned. This didn't look like exactly what I wanted but it was close enough. I'm so glad I ordered because they are absolutely stunning and worth every penny! The lamps come fully assembled (no bulbs). The picture makes it look a little dingy and cheap but it's a beautiful bright brass. The heavy base is sturdy and won't tip when adjusting the shade height, angle or extension rods. The picture also doesn't show the decorative details on almost every part of the lamp. The short column between the base and extenders is fluted with a collar at the top and bottom. The inside of the shade is white and the base is felted underneath. The front of the base has one electric outlet, on/off toggle switch in the center and a data/phone port. There's another data/phone port in the back. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the light bulb specs. I've... I had a lamp from Pottery Barn that I liked much better, but the switch on it broke. It had two electrical outlets and also was higher so it shined from above my computer monitor. This lamp is not as high so it hits right about the middle of the monitor. You can adjust it up and down, but it is not tall enough to begin with. It has only one electrical outlet but two data ports which I am not sure what would plug in there. Looks like a phone jack, but I have nothing like that. It is a simple on/off switch, so hopefully will last longer than the other one which twisted to turn on and off. |
